CHEMICAL PEELS

WINDSOR MEDICAL
CHEMICAL PEELS

As we age, our skin goes through certain changes. It thins and loses its elasticity, causing wrinkles and lines to form. Ageing skin has a tendency to become blotchy and freckled, especially if it has been overexposed to the sun.
Which chemical peels do we use?

At Windsor Medical we use medical grade treatments such as Obagi and ZO chemical peels. These create an excellent freshening effect, but won't remove deep lines because they don't penetrate deeply enough. However, they will significantly help improve fine lines, particularly those under the eyes. In addition, these types of peels don't create a waxy or pale look. On the contrary, they give the complexion a fresh, natural glow.

What can I expect during the treatment?

It is important to understand that you will experience some reactions such as redness, peeling and itching as part of your skin’s transformation process. These changes mean that the treatment is working. Don’t be discouraged. Instead, renew your commitment to transform your skin. In a few weeks, you will begin to notice improvement.

The length of time for each phase depends on your daily commitment to use the system and the condition of your skin.
Tranformation

6-8 weeks

Old, dead skin cells are sloughed off and replaced with fresh healthy skin cells. Itching, dryness and redness indicate that your treatment is working. Towards the end of this phase expect more even-toned skin as pigment cells begin to become balanced.

9-16 weeks

Your skin begin to producing normal, healthy cells. Healthy new cells are pushed to the surface faster. Pigment cells are distributing melanin more evenly. Collagen and elastin production is stimulated. Your skin begins to tolerate the treatment and reactions subside.

17-24 weeks

Skin cells are in the process of transformation. Layers of the skin receive an increased supply of nutrients and blood flow. Healthy, strong collagen and elastin production continues. Skin is smooth, naturally hydrated, evenly coloured and more resilient.
Maintenance

Your skin now looks and acts younger and healthier. The treatment has transformed your skin! Now, your goal is to maintain a daily skincare routine. Check in routinely with your skin care specialist to ensure the effects last indefinitely.

Aftercare?

Reducing sun exposure during a chemical peel is important because the skin will be more prone to the sun’s UV damage. The treatment includes a high factor cream SPF 50.

How will my skin look after treatment?

Depending on the peel is used, the effect will vary from mild to more dramatic results. After the skin has completely finished peeling, most clients notice dramatic results of newly improved complexion. The skin's appearance will continue to improve throughout the treatment, becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful looking.

Can I apply make up?

It optimise the healing process, leave any makeup off for a few days. Light mineral makeup can be applied if necessary.
