DERMAL FILLERS
As we get older we grow rich in experience and confidence, but there is one thing we may leave behind - the youthful appearance of our skin. Then, what you see on the outside may not live up to the vibrant person you are inside.

How do dermal fillers work?
Hyaluronic Acid is the substance naturally present in our cells that keeps our skin smooth, supple and hydrated. As we age, its levels in the skin decrease and we lose moisture, leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal filler injections help restore this hyaluronic acid and replace volume to the skin, effectively lifting it to reducing the wrinkles.
Dermal fillers slowly break down naturally over a period of five to ten months and can be used independently as a highly effective anti-wrinkle treatment, or safely alongside Botox, and in most cases in the same session as required. Fillers are injected under the skin, Botox is injected into the muscle. As a clinical anti ageing treatment, a combination of both dermal fillers and strategically placed Botox injections are hard to beat for facial rejuvenation and removing wrinkles from ageing skin.

What are the side effects?
Slight bruising and swelling are common side-effects. When dermal filler injections are performed correctly by an experienced medical practitioner they are regarded as a very safe aesthetic procedure, bad reactions to Hyaluronic Acid are exceptionally rare.
How Long do dermal fillers last?
At Windsor Medical we only use non-permanent fillers. Dermal fillers can last from 6 - 18 months depending on the filler used and area placed. Over time and with repeated treatment the effects can last longer.
Are dermal fillers painful?
The treatment can be uncomfortable, and that is why we use an anaesthetic cream and cold packs to numb the area before injection. Juvederm Ultra already contains a local anaesthetic and this makes the procedure very comfortable. If required, we can apply a dental block, when necessary, to improve further patient comfort.
Which areas can be treated?
Any area on the skin that needs either volumising or hydration can be treated with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers can improve and restore fullness to lips, frown lines, sunken cheeks, nasolabial or nose to mouth lines, deep chin lines and ageing hands. It can be used for a non-surgical nose job, to improve tear troughs and replace volume for sunken eyes.
